The developer is quick to respond and the app is intricate and brilliant great for experimenting and learning openings.

It used to actually quiz me. Now it goes on forever and gives no feedback! The fonts are too small for us old people. Why not have a mode where we dont have choices presented to us? Why not allow us to select whether we want to test "best" or "most popular" without mixing them? The pieces dont fly into position any more. That was fun. Why remove it? New look is more professional, but boring. Work on combining the two. Id like the old build back please.

Love the new interface so far!

Not only is landscape mode not supported, the easy way to just simply play a game is lost. This update is unintuitive to use. The previous interface was beautiful. Actually, the past 3 updates have all detracted from its usability such that I dont even want to use it anymore. This is a shame because the best update would be to go back to the original interface and allow one to save games. Please restore landscape mode at the very least - and this means from the initial launching of the program.

Will not download and Apple will not refund your money!

Go back to the old version. Dont fix it if its not broke.

Im loving the app... The new user interface looks beautiful. The new information on the "Engine Analysis" panel is useful. And My Openings was greatly needed. Keep up the good work!

The statistics from Chessbase are more definitive. Chessbase, while very useful, is not the most practical source for opening knowledge. This app gives you quick access to the opening information you want and allows you to bookmark variations and study them later.

Helpful and better than the last version but could be better. The statistics are confusing-- it is not clear which move or opening is best for white and which for black. Needs more detailed instructions FAQ.

Could you change the icon . It is horrible !!!

What I know is that the latest update has taken this application to a new level of effectiveness. What I believe is this is a wonderful tool for getting to the next level in your chess game! Professor M.

Awesome resource, best way to sharpen your opening play.

The data base seems to be as good as any internet database I have used. I mainly purchased the app for the quiz mode, which I like but is only good. Sometimes it says your close, when you are correct. Sometimes it say good choice, when you are wrong. Also, it would be awesome if you could see the rest of the opening you are working with, either with a continue button or way to start the engine. A good app tho. New update not as good. Fonts too small No quiz score or progress (difficulty bar gone). Pieces dont fly into position, it was good to see the opening develop. I would also prefer the old version. Another update! Getting better, but it sometimes tells you your right when your wrong, or close when you selected the correct answer. Fix that, and the quiz mode would be awesome. Great app!!

This app is, in my opinion, pretty fantastic. Definitely learning a lot and using it in conjunction with some chess books Im reading. One feature I would love: to be able to enter an opening move (say, e4) and the list of openings with that move are auto indexed.

In view of the price, the app is too simple and useless
